Senior Scientist, Polymer Chemistry
Justin Hochberg is responsible for the development and scale-up of the precursors to Soleic materials. Prior to joining Soleic, he received his Ph.D. from University of California San Diego in NanoEngineering, during which he primarily developed functional polymeric biomaterials for wound healing applications. Justin also holds a B.S. in Biochemistry with a minor in Music Performance from the University of Florida.
When I’m not in the lab you can find me playing with my cat Nelly or playing saxophone.
I’d love to see Soleic in furniture because everywhere you go— houses, offices, or restaurants—there is tons of furniture that will eventually end up in a landfill.
In the future, I would like to see sustainable materials become the standard, and for plastic pollution to be overcome by the introduction and acceptance of sustainable alternatives.
